Want to know more about how to keep your workplace safe for all of your workers and yourself? Want to know what rules and regulations you need to follow for your workplace? Then come and take Occupational Safety and Health with Kristi Murphey, one of the health teachers here at LBCC. She teaches the class at 9:00 in the morning in Forum Building 113.
Kristi Murphey started at LBCC as a part time teacher in march of 2002 and in August of 2006, became a full time staff member. She has a BS in health, a MS in health education and is currently working on a Dr PH in Epidemiology. "I Love Teaching" Murphey said. She also loves teaching because she can interact with students.
When asked about some things here at LBCC she likes, she said that this is a "geat campus" and having an "interaction with students". She does not have anything she does not like about LBCC. According to one of her students, Camile Ferguson, Dr. Murphey's teaching style is "effective for what she teaches and she teaches to those who want to learn". One thing that Ferguson said that could be better was that the "lectures should be sperate from the powerpoints". This is becasue Ferguson said that it is hard for her to keep up with her lectures while taking notes.
According to Murphey's Boss, Beth Hogeland, She is very "thoughtful and enjoys working with students". Hogeland also said that the first time they met was at the Campus Preschool which used to be for staff and students to place their kids. It is now called head start and it is for any of the students kids only. In the health and Human preformance area for student income, Murphey is the lead person. "I enjoy working with her a lot" Hogeland said.
